As for properties for sale on Maui, some of my favorite homes for sale happen to be in Kapalua. Kapalua is an area on the west side of Maui that is just north of Kaanapali and has some gorgeous beaches, views, and, of course, one of the best golf courses around. The Kapalua Golf Course is an award-winning course and is currently undergoing some incredible enhancements to make this already great place even better! The enhancements are part of a multi-year property improvement plan that hopes to continue Kapalua’s reputation as the top golf destination in Hawaii!
According to the story, the Bay Course has been rerouted to increase the pace of play and create a memorable and challenging final stretch of holes. The new first hole is taking over the former 7th hole, which is an uphill, 355-yard par 4 that’s known for setting the pace for good golfers. The new 16th and 17th holes have taken over the former 4 and 5 holes and give you space to play along and over the ocean, with the par-3 17th hole! And to top it all off, the new 18th hole has taken over the former 6th hole and is replete with challenges and an uphill par 5.
In addition to the course updates, the Bay Course Golf Shop has been relocated to the newly enhanced Village Center at Kapalua. The Village Center will now be home to the Bay Golf & Resort Shops, Kapalua Golf Academy, the Taverna Restaurant, and administrative offices.
Additionally, the Kapalua Golf Academy that has been redesigned and modernized. The academy practice range and tee areas have been expanded, and two hitting decks resurfaced with Platinum Paspalum turf. A massive 9,000 square-foot putting green has been added next to the Village Center to provide guests with an additional short-game practice location or warm up spot prior to Bay Course rounds. The new practice green was turfed with Tif-Eagle to be consistent with the putting surfaces found on the golf course.
