2015 Maui Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival

The festival returns this year with great music, workshops, and more!
April 22, 2015

Whether you are on vacation on Maui and are thinking about moving to the island or are a long time resident on Maui, the Maui Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival is an event that you absolutely must attend if you are interested in Hawaiian music and its history.

The festival will feature a variety of performances, workshops, jam sessions, and presentations; all of which are offered with the intention of providing education, awareness, and entertainment to the community.

The Hawaiian Steel Guitar originated in the late 1880's and gained worldwide attention by the 1920's. The guitar features strings which are raised over the fret board and is played with a steel bar. The features have come to change and develop over the years to include extra strings, multiple necks, and stands with legs.

The Maui Steel Guitar Festival will be an excellent opportunity to learn about this fascinating instrument which is thought to be the only one indigenous to Hawaii. The festival is a free event and will be held from April 24-26 at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel in West Maui. Times vary each day and you can check out the schedule of events at www.MauiSteelGuitarFestival.com.

Thank you for reading this week and I hope you have a wonderful time! Also don't forget if you're in the market for West Maui real estate feel free to contact me--I'm happy to help!
