The Ritz-Carlton Hotel is expecting a good turn out for the Xterra World Championships taking place on October 27th. The championship welcomes athletes from the U.S. and from 28 other countries and is an intense off-road triathlon which includes rough water swimming, mountain biking, and a trail run.
Following the exciting Xterra Championships, will be the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in January of 2014. This tournament is exclusive to previous PGA Tour champions and will be from January 2nd – 6th at the Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort. Watch the pros tee off in this exciting tournament coming next year.
With these events approaching quickly, we are hoping that the increase in traffic to our island will also benefit our West Maui economy. As far as real estate goes, the Kapalua Real Estate market has seen some positive movement thus far into the year. Pineapple Hill has had four sales and two more are currently in escrow with prices starting at $2.5 million. There have also been three Plantation Estate homes and lots which have been sold between $5.9 – 19.8 million. Kapalua Place is alive and buzzing with two oceanfront homes for sale; #3 Kapalua Place and #9 Kapalua Place are selling for $20,880,000 and $28 million, respectively.
Sales for the Kapalua Ironwoods have fallen a bit behind making only one sale for a Kapalua Bay view unit with Coconut Grove pulling slightly ahead with two sales of oceanfront properties which were both in the $4 million and up range.
Jo’s newly remodeled Kapalua Ironwoods 51 listing overlooks the bay area and is a great value at $4,375,000. Featuring stunning Brazilian Cumarra wood throughout, this three-bedroom and 3.5 bath condo also boasts gorgeous views of the ocean and really is the best for its price!
